Charitas’ smart contract protocol removes a 5% tax on every transaction. A portion of this tax fills up the Charity fund, and allows our holders to earn interest and vote on which charities and causes will receive donations. This enables flexibility in funding urgent emergency relief programs while promoting transparency and honesty through community involvement. Developers are currently working on a voting platform where holders can directly vote for their favorite charities to receive the donations. So far there have been two successful influencer campaigns with Rory Macdonald, an MMA fighter where we raised $11,374 for Feed the hungry, and @RunAndLift on Instagram raising $6,153 for St Jude Children's hospital. So far Charitas has raised $52,390 for charity and the community actively decides where the money gets donated to via telegram polls until the voting platform is complete.
